About

Originally this site was going to be a showcase of my design and software engineering work, but I was shortly thereafter hired full time (I’m a systems analyst), and get enough freelance work through word-of-mouth alone that I don’t need to advertise.

I don’t write nearly as much as I should, I tend to have interesting thoughts while walking to work, or to the bathroom, or wherever, but generally on walks, which don’t lend themselves to writing stuff down, let alone posting them. I somehow manage to posts random bits of dialog from my life (both the real and the internet kind), though, which I enjoy, if no one else does. My wonderful partner is referred to here as “The Pirate Queen”, or “P.”, or “Pamela”, one of which being her name (correct answer: “The”).

I’ve been taking pictures all my life, but I discovered the joys of long exposures on my little 35mm Olympus point & shoot in 2000 or so. The pictures here only go back to the summer of 2003 when I got a Sony digicam. I now shoot with a Nikon, primarily with a 50mm/1.8, but there are a few with glass older than I am, that I purchased out of the back of a car in a parking lot (it’s legit though - really). The Olympus currently has half a roll of film on it, the same one for the past four years. Oops.

There are very few pictures of people I know here - I have flickr and facebook accounts, which seem more appropriate venues for that malarky.

I have been playing guitar for 20 years as of the fall of 2008, so there are a few posts about that. I find recording to be inordinately stressful, but do it anyway, if sporadically, as it’s important. I own a bunch of guitars, and I love them all, and no, I don’t own too many, so screw off.
